Lives and works in Martinique

Unfinished portraits, faceless portraits and Metamorphes questions the violence created by modern globalisation: military, social, cultural, psychological, economic violence... violence exerted on the planet and the living. The unfinished portraits are faceless like in the Faceless portraits series where they are associated with texts from writers from all continents. This work produces an encounter and a putting in motion of the imaginations of different writers and that of the Visual Artist that I am.

A hub of resistance to the cultural violence of globalisation is thereby created; in reality the power of dominant countries can, in many cases, destroy cultures but can in no way destroy the imaginations of artists: writers, musicians, visual artists, etc.

The Metamorphes or carapace bodies are also questionings of the violence of modern globalisation. These sculptural works are the location of a metamorphosis, where the bodies strive to be seen as kinds of carapaces where a feeling of resistance is born. Each sculpture is a synthesis of man, animal, plant. At the heart of this work lies not the question of what is beautiful but that of what is ethical and aesthetic in contemporary practices.
