Alice Yard
Alice Yard is a space for creative experiment, collaboration, and improvisation, ,in the backyard space of the house at 80 Roberts Street, Woodbrook, Port of Spain ( Trinidad and Tobago). Alice Yard is administered and curated by architect Sean Leonard, artist Christopher Cozier, writer and editor Nicholas Laughlin, and musician Sheldon Holder, with the help of a growing network of creative collaborators.
Since late 2006, Alice Yard has been home to 12, the band led by musician Sheldon Holder. A series of weekly Friday-night Conversations in the Yard organised by Holder from 2006 to early 2008 brought musicians, artists, writers, and audiences together for informal performances and interactions.In September 2007, a modest gallery space opened in Alice Yard. It hosts exhibitions, installations, film screenings, and other projects by Trinidad-based and visiting artists Alice Yard and its programmes are supported by co-rd Ltd. and Basso Leonard Architects Collaborative Ltd.
